The Carter County Extension Office is part of the University of Tennessee Agricultural Extension Service. The UT Ag. Extension Service is a statewide educational organization and a parternership between the Carter County government, The University of Tennessee and the US Dept. of Agriculture. The Extension Service brings research-based knowledge in agriculture, family and consumer sciences and 4-H to individuals, families and communities.
The Carter County Extension Office is located in the old Folsom Home and is host to the world's largest living decorated Christmas tree.
